Blockchain Innovation program for the government (experiments)

We have set up a Blockchain Innovation program for the Dutch government: blockchainpilots.nl. The aim of this program was to set up experiments to learn with larger groups of organizations about the application possibilities of the technology. In 2016 and 2017 we set up over 35 experiments for more than 30 government organizations.

DBC international cooperation

For the DBC we organize and facilitate cooperation with foreign governments, the European Union and international organizations such as the World Bank and the United Nations. We also coordinate Dutch efforts in various international consultations.

Coordination use cases DBC

The DBC is working on five implementation projects (use cases); Self Sovereign Identity (SSI), Logistics, Diplomas, Logistics and Compliance by Design. We take care of the overall coordination and exchange of experiences and expertise between these projects.

Publications

We have published two books. Together with the Flemish government and SdU we have published a book about blockchain cases in the public sector (early 2018) and with the UN and a consortium of legal experts we have published the book ‘The Legal Aspects of Blockchain’. The MIT Journal Innovation published an article about the legal aspects of blockchain (early 2019).

CJIB, Alphen, Grants

Debt counseling (CJIB):

Together with CJIB, TU Delft and Ledger Leopard we have set up a project that makes it possible for citizens with debt problems to inform the CJIB that a fine cannot be paid due to a debt problem. The proof of this can be provided via Zero Knowledge Proof without sharing sensitive data. This project is now part of the European Interreg program.

Maintenance of public space (Alphen / Zoetermeer / The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management)

With the municipalities of Alphen aan den Rijn and Zoetermeer and The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management we have set up a project that fundamentally changes the maintenance of public space. Via a combination of IoT and blockchain objects, such as lampposts, we can independently provide the required maintenance.

De Dutch Blockchain Coalition is een unieke samenwerking van overheidsorganisaties, bedrijfsleven en onderzoeksinstellingen (Triple Helix) dat zich richt op de verdere ontwikkeling van het Nederlandse blockchain-ecosysteem. Voor de DBC richten we ons specifiek op internationale samenwerking en de coördinatie van de vijf use cases van de DBC.
